So, when I saw comments as \u201dpersonal\u201d, they rather referred to different approaches to haiku.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have not experienced more than a couple of differing approaches. At the moment I\u2019ll comment on the idea that haiku should be purely \u201dobservational\u201d. The straw was so beautiful and still not easily observable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My first reaction was the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In the peonies<\/strong><br><strong>the head of a grass straw&nbsp;<\/strong><br><strong>a flute among drums<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And then I reacted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Not so! This is a simile<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I looked in the book and started with the time of my observation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>a day in July<\/strong><br><strong>a straw among peonies<\/strong><br><strong>that lost their petals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>This is only one observation,<\/em><em> let me add another to make it into two observations. I looked at the clouds and felt some soft rain.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>a day in July<\/strong><br><strong>a straw among peonies<\/strong><br><strong>Soft rain<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Acceptable but not particularly interesting<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then I wanted to add a text to the photo to make it a shahai:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A day in July<\/strong><br><strong>Grass grows<\/strong><br><strong>Birds are silent<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Acceptable but not particularly interesting<\/em>.  Or &#8211; I know!  Birds usually stop singing when they expect bad weather.Maybe a reader can see this? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A high grass straw&nbsp; \u2013<\/strong><br><strong>A bumble-bee dives down<\/strong><br><strong>into a flower<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Which one is OK? You can see the grass but not the bumble bee (that I have got in another picture).
